Brittany had arrived in Leighton earlier that morning but she didn't feel like going to school yet. She hadn't even been to school yet but somehow she was already having to deal with drama. Apparently some blonde bimbo was trying to steal Luke away from her. She had tried calling Lucas several times the night before and hadn't answered any of them. Though she would never admit it, but she was worried something was really wrong with her perfect relationship.
Since going to school so soon wasn't an option right now, Brittany decided to go to the Lake. It was noon and although it was becoming very apparent that it was turning to Autumn, the sun was still shinning brightly overhead. Today was a good day to go to the Lake. It was hot, but not too hot. There was a nice breeze, but not enough to make you cold. It was the perfect weather.
Brittany loved any chance to show off her body and this was definitely once of those chances. She came out in one of the country club's private cabana's in dangerously short daisy duke shorts and a shimmery pink bikini top. She was carrying a large beach bag to the side of her which matched her bikini top. Her shoes also matched her bikini top and made her legs look even longer then they already were. Her hair was pulled into a perfectly sloppy pony tail with little wisps framing her face. Throughout the year, Brittany had perfected her look.
She slowly walked down to the end of the pier. She sat down right below the sun. She expertly rubbed tanning lotion over her body and laid down, closing her eyes. She relaxed there a few minutes, letting her skin soak up all the vitamin D. After about five minutes, she heard someone walk over to her.

Ashley needed to get away from the school for a bit. She decided to go to that Lake she saw last night. In her dorm room, she put on her bikini and a wrap over that and shorts on that. Ashley went over to the mirror in her room and looked at herself. She didn't think she looked good, but she didn't think she looked bad, either.
Ashley decided to run to the lake so she put her ear phones in her ears and turned the music on. She walked out of the dorm building and calmly across the quad. Once she got to the edge of quad, she started sprinting. She ran just like any other day. Ashley kept running until she saw the sun's reflection on the surface of the water. When she saw that, she slowed to a light jog.
When she got to the edge of the huge lake, she looked around. It really was very pretty. Ashley noticed the only place to get a good even tan would be on the pier. It looked like someone had the same idea as her. There was a very attractive girl laying out.
She walked down the long pier, striping her clothes off as she did so to reveal her black shimmery bikini. She laid down silently next to the brunette and instantly relaxed. The heat on her skin felt fantastic. This was exactly what she needed right now. She sighed in contentment and closed her eyes.

Once the pier stopped rocking from the girls movements, Brittany opened her eyes and looked over at the girl and smiled. She was pretty. Blonde hair, blue eyes, killer body. Brittany guessed she was from California. She could definitely see the two of them being friends. Brittany then wondered if the girl went to Rosehurst.
"Here." Brittany said nonchalantly but friendly to the girl, offering her bottle of tanning lotion up. "You might want to use some or else you'll get burnt." She advised. Brittany didn't want to be seen hanging out with a human tomato. As she looked at the girl more carefully, she remembered her from somewhere. She knew she had seen her before, she just couldn't remember where.
Brittany's phone started ringing from her purse. She sighed and rolled her eyes. She didn't want to deal with anyone right now so she let the phone ring. Right now, she was relaxing and hopefully making a new friend. And this year she could use all the friends she could get.
"I'm Brittany, by the way." She said, relaxing again. She reached into her bag and grabbed her phone. Without looking at the screen, she turned the phone on silence and put it back in her purse. "I haven't seen you around here, are you new to the area?"

Ashley sighed in contentment. She could see why all the Rosehurst kids always talked about this place. It was amazing. And it was the perfect time to come too. It was almost noon and the sun was right above the lake.
Ashley opened her eyes and closed them when the sun shone in them. She put her hand over her eyes and smiled at the girl. "Thank you." She said sweetly as she took the lotion. She shook the bottle and opened it. The lotion smelled like cherries. She had never found tanning lotion that actually smelled good.
As she rubbed the lotion on her body, she took a closer look at the girl. She was really pretty. Like movie star pretty. Everything about her seemed perfect from her hair to her matching bathing suit and bag. And Ashley could tell she had confidence, something Ashley secretly lacked.
The girls phone started ringing which she totally ignored. Ashley silently wondered who could be calling that she didn't want to talk to but didn't say anything. After the phone stopped ringing, she pulled it out. Ashley didn't mean to but saw who just called. Someone named 'Boyfriend Luke'. She turned the phone to silent and stuffed it back in her back.
When the girl introduced herself, something in Ashley's head went off. She had heard of Brittany before. She just couldn't remember who she was. Ashley was now putting lotion on her legs. "I'm Ashley." She introduced herself. "I'm new at Rosehurst." She continued. After she finished with the lotion, she handed it back to Brittany and laid back down. "Thank you again." She said again before they both fell into a comfortable silence.

Brittany flipped over onto her stomach. She already had a tan from Rio. She really had no reason to be out here. Well, other then the fact that there was so much drama going on at school and she didn't want to get involved. Not right now at least. Brittany rested her head on her forearms and looked over at Ashley.
So she did go to Rosehurst. That was good to know. She would definitely fit in. Especially with her crowd. Brittany was now mentally going through all the boys at Rosehurst. Who would Ashley look cute together with(But not cuter then her, of course)?
Brittany took the lotion when Ashley handed it to her. "Don't mention it." She said as she put it back in her bag. she saw her phone light up, it was Lucas yet again. Brittany still didn't want to talk to him. She ignored it and stuffed her phone further down in her bag.
"So where are you living?" Brittany asked. She didn't want to think about herself, which was rare. So she wanted to hear about Ashley to take her mind off of everything. She closed her eyes let her body relax.

"Henley." Ashley responded to Brittany's question. She had already moved herself in. "I actually got a single." She said, talking about her she didn't have a roommate. It was really rare to get a single. Especially considering how late Ashley had signed up.
Ashley turned over a couple minutes after Brittany did. She propped herself up on her elbows and looked over at Brittany so they could continue talking. She seemed really nice. "And I take you go there as well...?" She assumed but asked anyway.
From what Ashley could tell, Brittany already had a pretty even tan. Which made her wonder why she was down here. Maybe she just liked the sun or the lake. Either way she didn't bring it up. She just continued to focus on her tan.
"I haven't seen you around campus. I assume you aren't new. So what, are you hiding or something?" Ashley laughed at the thought. Brittany seemed like the kind of girl who ruled the school. She had no reason to hide out.

Brittany smiled, "I have a single too." She told Ashley. That was amazing. It was ridiculously hard to get a single. Most of the times only seniors got singles but Brittany and Ashley weren't.
Brittany did the same thing as Ashley so she could talk to her better. "I do." She said. "I actually live in Henley too. I live on the fifth floor." She said. getting a room on the seventh floor was harder then getting a single room. So getting a single on the fifth floor was impossible. But somehow Brittany did it.
"I just got back from Rio. And I'm not too fond of going back to school just yet." Brittany explained. She pulled out her phone and scrolled through her text messages, all from Lucas. She didn't bother looking at it but handed the phone to Ashley and sighed. "Too much drama. Some little tramp is trying to steal my boyfriend."

Ashley laid her head down on her forearms and close her eyes are she listened to Brittany talk about school. "That campus is really beautiful." Ashley added when Brittany stopped talking for a moment. She sighed and relaxed. It was a really nice day.
Then Brittany mentioned her boyfriend, Luke. It made Ashley hold her breath. Wait, she didn't have anything to worry about. There were probably more then one Lucas at Rosehurst, right? It was just a coincidence that she kissed a Lucas.
And then she said that someone was trying to steal him. It was getting harder and harder to convince herself that it was a different person. Once she saw the text messages, she knew it was him. Crap. Now she felt horrible.
She just kissed Brittany's boyfriend. This was bad. Really bad. "Wow...." Ashley said. "Maybe it was just an accident..." She tried telling Brittany. Now Ashley just wanted to go back to school rather then stay here.

Brittanty laughed when Ashley said it was an accident. She was so naive. Brittany kind of liked that about Ashley. She just seemed so innocent. It was refreshing. She many girls she met at Rosehurst were fake.
"Trust me. Everybody at Rosehurst knows Lucas is mine. It was no accident." Brittany said. It was practically public knowledge that Lucas was Brittany's boyfriend. And she didn't know anyone ballsy enough to try to steal him away from her.
"Whatever. Whoever it is, I'll rip their head off when I get to school." Brittany said the brightened up. She turned to Ashley and held her hand. "You can help me find this bitch." She said excitedly.

Ashley wanted to tell Brittany that it was her that kissed Lucas. She just couldn't bring herself to actually do so. She felt horribly about it. It was impossible to tell her and not hurt her at the same time. And she didn't want to hurt her. She seemed so nice.
Brittany seemed very territorial. If Ashley told her that she had kissed him, she didn't doubt that she would rip her head off. That was another reason she didn't tell her. She was scared. If she could just explain to her that she wasn't trying to steal Lucas away from her, maybe that would make this a little better. Maybe.
You can help me catch this bitch..." Brittany's words rang in Ashley's ears. She wasn't a bitch. "Um, I have to go.." Ashley said quietly. She got up from the pier and stood up. She quickly grabbed her clothes. "Sorry to dash off like this." she said as she walked down the pier.
