The Checklist
An introduction to Rosehurst Academy RPG.
An introduction to Rosehurst Academy RPG.
Hey there and welcome to Rosehurst Boarding Academy of Excellence.
We know that joining a new site can be pretty intimidating at times, so we've put together this little checklist to help you become a part of our little community easier. :D
- Site Rules : The first thing I would recommend is to take a look at our Site Rules. Rules are the backbone to any community and helps keep things running smoothly. It is always best to familiarize yourself with the rules of a site before jumping in, just so that you are aware of what is okay and what isn't before clicking that 'post' button.
- Plot & P.A System: After checking out the rules, your next stop should be the Plot and P.A. System. These threads will tell you what our current plot is. It will also give you an overview of the things that have already happened on our site and upcoming events.
- Characters : Next you will want to make your character. We want original characters so let your creativity run wild. Please keep in mind that although we want original characters, there are a few rules you need to keep in mind such as not making him/her a Mary Sue or Anti- Sue. If you are unclear about what that is, that a look at a thread explaining it here, Mary Sues & Anti-Sues
- Character Profile : Once you have your character in mind, copy/paste the coding for our Character Profile and then post it in the Pending Profiles forum (first last name, please). Before you begin filling in the profile, please be sure to take a look at our Character Holds and the Face Claim List.
- Introductions : Don't forget to drop by the Cbox forum to introduce yourself! We love getting to know our new members!
- Big Brothers/Sisters: We have a program especially for new members. It is called the Newbie Integration Alliance. You are encouraged to go check out this thread and pick out a big brother or big sister on the list. Once you've done that, contact them by either sending them a PM or post in the thread. Once you have a sibling, they will show you around roleplay with you.
- Face Claims : Follow the code provided and add your characters name and their play-by in the Face Claim so that we can keep track of who plays which characters. It keeps the site a lot less hectic.
- Open Threads: We have a list of Open Threads for new members. One of the most intimidating things about joining a new RPG is trying to find someone willing to actually roleplay with you. Now you don't have to worry about that.
If you have any questions about any of the above or about anything at all, please don't hesitate to send a PM to one of the site staff (Quinn, Puck, or Shelby) or ask your question in the cbox. Our members are generally eager to help.
